About Dr. Bob

Bob Stoll (aka Dr. Bob) is a good friend of mine and is the man behind Dr. Bob Sports. I first met Bob when he was a Statistics major at Cal. He started his handicapping business in 1987 and has since become, according to the Wall Street Journal, "the Man Who Shook Up Vegas".

Testimonials for Dr. Bob Sports

In an industry that has its share of superlative self-promoters at best (and scam artists at worst), you have only to read the two-paged spread in The Wall Street Journal to know that Dr. Bob is indeed a "peerless" sports handicapper. In their Jan 2007 piece entitled "The Man Who Shook Up Vegas", the WSJ called Bob "one of the world's most influential sports handicappers." How influential? Influential enough to cause the bookmakers in Vegas to subscribe to his service so they could move their lines accordingly within seconds of Bob releasing his best bets. This in an effort to beat Bob's customers to the punch and minimize their own losses. That says it all in my mind, and his story has been retold since on ESPN, CNBC, and numerous local newscasts in the San Francisco Bay Area where Bob lives and works.

Dr. Bob's Advice

You can balance this testimony with Bob's own words and advice about his service and about sports betting in general. You will never hear him tout a 12-star, lock-of-the-year pick. Instead, you can read the articles and essays he has written on a level headed, statistically sound, rational approach to sports betting.

Dr. Bob's Methods

I have done a lot of computer programming for Dr. Bob, mainly on his math models and other statistical tools, and I have good insight into how he analyzes the games. His math models are ingenious and it's amazing how much effort and detail Bob pours into his work. But the math models are only a component of his success. His work ethic, the sheer effort he puts in during the season, the continual evaluation and improvement of his system during the offseason, and the 20 years of experience finding the rationale behind the intuiton have all contributed to his 58% overall winning record. If that doesn't sound like much to you, I urge you to ask an experienced sports bettor how profitable 58% can be.

Dr. Bob's Service

Dr. Bob covers football and basketball, both college and pro. He provides free analysis for most football games and you can read that analysis here on OFP or on Bob's own website. For a subscription fee, you can have access to his influential Best Bet analysis.

Dr. Bob Subscriptions

You can get season and weekly subscriptions to his Best Bet analysis. In football, Dr. Bob offers Pro only, College only, or College and Pro, all at different price points. I'd recommend going with the College and Pro combination and go for the Season Subscription. One of the keys to using Bob's service is to be disciplined and stick with him. If he loses this week, don't give up on him. If he wins 4 weeks in a row, don't raise your bets, just stick to his recommended bankroll strategy (which you can read about on his website under the Articles section).

My Own Personal Caveats

Since you are reading this you are probably one my customers and I like to be up front with everyone in business as in all walks of life.

Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Be that as it may, I know who I'd want on my team. Good luck in all your endeavors.

Sincerely,
John Cranston - Founder and Owner of Office Football Pool.com
