RMP62: - Is there a way to let people pick their "#1 game" (i.e., the one they're most confident in) as a tiebreaker, as opposed to a specific game (from the list)? Thanks in advance, RMP - (27-Aug-08)

CHASE22: - how do I make one of my alias my username and convert current username to alias - (27-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: Well, you can do that really. What you can do is change the names. There are 3 steps. 1. Change the name of your username to RHINO61_Temp 2. Change the name of your Alias to RHINO61. 3. Change the name of your username to whatever your alias was named. To change your username, go to HOME>My Account and click the link to change username. To change the name of your alias, go to HOME>My Aliases and click the link to Change Name. - 27-Aug-08

SARGE13: - I am already running a pool and would like to run a second pool with different people. When I try to create a new pool it keeps asking me if I want to change my password for the pool I'm already running. What am I doing wrong? - (27-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: I don't think it's asking you to change the password for the pool you're already running. It's probably just warning you about having 2 pools for the same format. - 27-Aug-08

DELGART: - I am trying to create a football pick ‘em pool using the point spread. I only want to pick 8 games, but I’d like to have one game worth 3 points, another game worth 2 points, and the remaining six games worth 1 point each. Can you explain to me how to set this up? - (27-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: You want a Combo Best Bets/Confidence pool with custom ranks. You have to write us for the custom ranks, but you can switch the format yourself by going to POOL SETTINGS>Format. - 27-Aug-08

BLUMFINGER: - I vote for the admins to unhide the Hide Picks option...see conversation below...what's wrong with having the option...? * Response by BLUMFINGER: later stages of the season peeps can use it to pick defensively BUT...if you have the pick deadline as game time then you add the element of bluffing... we even did covert organized bluffing with peeps out of the running conspiring to weigh consensus in a certain direction... * Response by THE CON-MISSIONER: I've always left it off for the first half of the season, because I feel it increases trash talk, and anyone who is attempting to imitate picks at that stage will only screw themselves. It doesn't become an issue until the later stages of the season. - 25-Aug-08 * Response by ADMIN: He's right, the option is missing now. We removed it during our redesign because nobody seems to want Hide Picks turned OFF, except the sneaky pool managers who were un-hiding in the middle of the night to take a peak at what everyone picked. - (27-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: Just write me, I'll turn it ON or OFF for you. Whatever you want. The thing you can't do is, turn it OFF for 5 minutes and then turn it back ON. We had some managers doing that 2 years ago and it seemed like cheating so we have clamped down on how you can use that setting. - 27-Aug-08

ADAMT504: - If autopick is turned on and someone has 3 entries and misses their pick, will autoppick give them the same team for all 3 entries given if its avaialble? - (27-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: Yes, every account is treated the same. In survivor, the autopicker gives you get the biggest favorite of the games that haven't started, of the teams you haven't picked yet. It doesn't recognize that you have 3 entries and may want to mix your picks up a bit. - 27-Aug-08

NSCFL_2008: - We're doing the NFL preseason to test the site out. When the regular season starts what is the best way to zero out all scores and stats? Would it works if we go in Pool Settings/Schedule (Weeks) and set start to week 1? Thanks. - (27-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: Yes, that's what you do. - 27-Aug-08

YARCHY: - Maybe I am missing this but for the life of me I can't find where the old "hide picks" option is - (26-Aug-08)
  • Response by BLUMFINGER: nor can I... - 27-Aug-08
  • Response by ADMIN: We got rid of that user setting. Maybe we'll add it back, but for now just write me if you want to change it. Sorry for the trouble. - 27-Aug-08

LPSPOOL: - As an Admin it would be nice if a user's aliases showed up on the "Member Detail" page. That way all of their information is in one place. I have users asking me questions and some of them have aliases that are not sequential (i.e. totally different names). Thanks. - (26-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: Good suggestion. We'll do it. - 27-Aug-08
  • Response by ADMIN: I wanted to add, you can search/filter your roster by email address and this is a good way to see all the aliases that belong to a given person. The email address of the alias always matches the email address of the full member. - 27-Aug-08

TK007: - I did not get the response that I had hoped to with the 30 invites I sent out. Can I delete the pool and eliminate any obligation for payment? - (26-Aug-08)
  • Response by ADMIN: You can delete this pool yourself by going to POOLS>My Pools. Scroll down until you see the pool you just created, and click on the associated "delete" link. There's no obligation to pay. - 26-Aug-08

DIRTY CASH: - I booted a member by accident and need him reinstated. Username = Go Trojans! - (26-Aug-08)
  • Response by SILVERBULLET16: If your pool hasn't started yet and no records are lost you can just send him an invite and let him join again. If pool has started and you need his records restored send an email to admin@officefootballpool.com - 26-Aug-08
  • Response by DIRTY CASH: I did send him another invite however his account is linked to his email address and it won't let him signon. I even tried to have him create another username however the message states another user has this email account. My pool has not started and the first NFL GAME is the start of my pool season. - 26-Aug-08
  • Response by ADMIN: When you boot someone, if you tell us soon enough, we can restore the booted member for you. Just send us the username. I think your problem has been fixed already. - 26-Aug-08
  • Response by DIRTY CASH: Sorry about that and THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP & SUPPORT..... - 26-Aug-08

MPAPS55: - If I have 3 entries in one pool, is it possible to have the alias' be different rather than (for instance) xxx1, xxx2, xxx3? - (26-Aug-08)
  • Response by SILVERBULLET16: Yes, alias names can be anything you or your alias players want as long as the name isn't being used. If it is already taken, then you can still add a number on the end of it. And once you have created an alias name, you can go back and change it at any time. Changing a name will not effect the players past records. - 26-Aug-08
  • Response by SILVERBULLET16: I should have also added that an alias can be converted at any time to full member status. - 26-Aug-08
  • Response by ADMIN: In a survivor pool, the alias names are created automatically like xxx - 2, xxx - 3, etc. If you want to change the names, do the following. 1. Switch to the alias account, using the dropdown in the gray frame on the left that says My Aliases with the Orange Arrow, then go to HOME>My Account and click the link that says Change Username. - 26-Aug-08

ADAMT504: - Can I lock out people from joining my knockout pool after a certain date ? - (26-Aug-08)
  • Response by SILVERBULLET16: Yes. Go to POOL SETTINGS<>BASICS and change the pool password. Then don't give the new password to anybody. Changing it will not effect players who have already joined your pool. - 26-Aug-08
  • Response by ADAMT504: thanks....that will work.. - 27-Aug-08
