Capan carded a one-under 70 on Sunday at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship to finish 10-under and tied for third.
Capan's third-place result in Bermuda matches his previous career best on the PGA Tour, having placed third earlier this year at the two-man Zurich Classic of New Orleans as well. The Minnesota native paced the entire field in scrambling at Port Royal this past week, logging only five total birdies across 72 holes. Capan will be in attendance again this week at Sea Island for his RSM Classic debut.
Schmid posted a six-under 66 on Sunday at the World Wide Technology Championship to finish 24-under and tied for sixth place.
After firing rounds of 64-63, Schmid led by one stroke through 36 holes but was bypassed following a one-under 71 on Saturday. He was able to bounce back with eight birdies (to go along with two bogeys) in the final round to hang onto a top-10 finish. The third-year PGA Tour pro has posted a top-15 result in two of his last three starts.
