Woods (back) does not sound likely to compete in next week's Players Championship, Bob Harig of SI.com reports.
When recently asked about his readiness for the Players Championship, Woods noted his lack of practice with a simple "not really" response that makes it seem he will sit out the upcoming tournament. Still dealing with a back injury, the grief of his mother's recent passing and with a lot of other work going on, it is looking likely the tourney is a no-go for him. It is worth noting Woods has not been 100 percent ruled out for the Players Championship, and there is still a chance he participates in some March golf, especially with the Valspar Championship coming a week after.
