Hughes posted a four-under 66 on Sunday at the Texas Children's Houston Open to finish in 10th place.
Although Hughes was never in contention to win, he had a consistent week with four consecutive rounds in the 60s and only carded four bogeys across 72 holes. He stood out statistically by ranking fourth for the tournament in SG: Off-the-tee and T5 in driving accuracy. Following a slow start to the year, Hughes has posted a pair of top-25 finishes over his last four starts.
Hughes recorded a two-day total of one-over-par to miss the cut at this past week's Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches by six shots.
Hughes managed to lose 3.1 strokes off the tee throughout his 36 holes at PGA National, hitting only 13 of 28 fairways in regulation in the process. The Canadian has yet to notch a single top-35 finish through his first six starts of the 2025 campaign, dropping to 127th in the FedExCup standings. Nonetheless, he'll tee it up this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where he placed T30-T61 the past two years.
