Valimaki fired a final round four-under 66 to claim the victory at The RSM Classic by one stroke.
Valimaki entered Sunday's action with a two-shot lead, and he got off to a good start with two birdies in the first four holes. Holding a one shot lead with three holes to play, he made a crucial 18-foot par putt on the 16th hole and two-putted his way to victory on the 72nd hole to win by one. Valimaki gained shots in every strokes gained category for the week, most notably ranking sixth in SG: Putting and second in birdies made. The championship secures his Tour card through 2027, and the 27-year-old is also qualified for the first two signature events next year.
Valimaki finished in a share of second place at the World Wide Technology Championship after shooting an eight-under 64 in the final round.
Valimaki opened the week hot with an 11-under 61. His 69 in round three was what put him behind a bit in this shootout, but a bogey-free 64 helped make up for it on Sunday. Valimaki missed only two fairways and six greens in regulation for the week. More importantly he moves up from 103rd to 76th in the FedExCup Fall standings. That means he will retain full playing status in 2026. Valimaki will look to continue the strong ball-striking at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship next week.
Valimaki (undisclosed) is listed in the field for this week's World Wide Technology Championship.
Valimaki withdrew prior to the Bank of Utah Championship after a disappointing MC-MC-T72 stretch to open his FedExCup Fall campaign, but he's slated to return this week in Mexico for his WWT Championship debut.
Valimaki (undisclosed) is out for the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship, according to Rob Bolton of PGATour.com.
The reasoning for Valimaki's tournament withdrawal is unknown. In place of him is James Hahn. Valimaki's last tourney, the Baycurrent Classic, saw him score seven-over par.
