Valimaki carded a three-under 68 on Sunday at the RBC Heritage to finish nine-under and tied for 18th.
Valimaki played his final seven holes of the tournament in four-under-par to salvage his third consecutive top-20 finish dating back to a solo-fourth at the Texas Children's Houston Open, rising to 66th in the FedExCup standings as a result. This past week at Harbour Town, he ranked top-10 among the field in both SG: Approach and Feet of Putts Made. Valimaki will pair with Ben Silverman at the upcoming Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Valimaki fired an eight-under 62 on Sunday to surge into solo fourth place at the Texas Children's Houston Open.
Valimaki's 62 in the final round tied the low round of the day. It included an eagle on the par-5 3rd hole along with six birdies. His iron play was spectacular this week, leading the field in both SG: Approach and GIR's. Valimaki ended up just three shots away from a playoff on Sunday and is still in search of that first PGA Tour win. He will tee it up at the Valero Texas Open next week.
