Ryan Gerard Ryan Gerard
RANK 78 | OWGR 1.49
Gerard closed with a two-under 69 on Sunday at the RBC Heritage to finish eight-under and tied for 27th.
Gerard converted nine of 10 scrambling opportunities while ranking second among the field in SG: Around-the-Green during Sunday's final round at Harbour Town, where he ultimately finished T12 in driving accuracy as well. He remains 34th in the FedExCup standings ahead of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, pairing with Danny Walker in the two-man team format.
Gerard fired a three-under 69 in the final round of the Valero Texas Open to finish in solo second place.
Gerard's 69 on Sunday in very difficult conditions was one of the best rounds of the day. It helped him pick up 15 spots on the leaderboard and post his best result on Tour. Gerard did not have his best ball-striking this week, but the tough conditions played in his favor as he ranked second in both SG: Around-the-Green and SG: Putting to grind out four quality scores. While he needed to win to get into The Masters next week, he will qualify for the RBC Heritage signature event via the Aon Swing 5. He also moves up to 31st in the FedExCup standings.
Gerard carded a two-under 68 on Sunday at the Texas Children's Houston Open to finish 14-under and in solo ninth place.
Gerard was only one back after 36 holes but cooled off slightly over the weekend with back-to-back rounds of 68 which was good enough to hang onto a top-10 finish. He was led by his iron play, ranking second for the week in SG: Approach and fifth in GIR. It's Gerard's best finish of the year and fourth top-25 result over his last seven events.
