Villegas jumped into a share of ninth place after firing a four-under 67 in the final round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Villegas' 67 was the low round of the day, and the windy conditions didn't bother the 2023 event champion as he posted five birdies and only one bogey to climb 15 spots on the leaderboard. Villegas ranked fifth in putts per GIR and his 22 birdies tied for the most on the week. Currently 151st in the FedExCup Standings, Villegas will need to win next week's RSM Classic to retain his Tour card for next year.
Villegas (undisclosed) is listed in the field for this week's Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
