Thomas finished in a share of 33rd place at THE PLAYERS Championship following a one-over 73 in the final round.
It looked like Thomas was going to have a short week after he opened with a six-over 78. He turned that all around and more with a historic second round performance which tied the course record of 62. Thomas just kept flagging shots and rolling in putts. It went from good momentum builder for next week to can he actually make the cut to he might actually have a shot on the weekend. A bogey on 18 sold what would have broken Tom Hoge's record of 62. Unfortunately, Thomas really didn't factor much of the weekend with back-to-back rounds of 73. He had one of his best putting weeks in some time gaining over 4.5 strokes on the greens, but 67th in SG: Off-the-Tee is just too much to overcome. Thomas will look to get things straightened out with the driver at the Valspar Championship.
Thomas carded a four-over 76 on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish three-over and tied for 36th.
Thomas found himself in a tie for second just one shot behind the lead after his first five holes of Round 3, but it was all downhill from there as he made 11 bogeys throughout his final 31 holes of the Signature Event. He ultimately gained 3.3 strokes ball striking throughout his week at Bay Hill, but Thomas struggled on the greens while losing 5.3 strokes putting. Thomas will look to improve with the flat stick at the upcoming PLAYERS Championship where he emerged victorious back in 2021.
