Hoge carded a two-under 69 on Sunday at the RBC Heritage to finish nine-under and tied for 18th.
Hoge managed to play his final two rounds at Harbour Town in bogey-free fashion, ultimately finishing second among the field in SG: Putting, fourth in sand saves and fifth in scrambling. However, he lost over two strokes off the tee. Nonetheless, he's now gained at least 2.2 strokes with the flat stick in five consecutive starts, and Hoge will be in attendance again this week for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside teammate Billy Horschel.
Hoge recorded a final round four-over 76 at the Valero Texas Open to finish tied for fifth place.
Hoge entered Sunday's action in solo third place, but he struggled out of the gates with an opening bogey and played the front-nine in four-over to fall out of contention. He was led by his short game this week, as he gained 6.2 strokes around the green and putting combined. Hoge enters the Masters Tournament on the heels of back-to-back top-5 finishes.
Hoge fired a six-under 66 in the final round to surge into a share of third place at THE PLAYERS Championship.
Hoge's 66 in very challenging conditions on Sunday tied for the low round of the day and moved him up 19 positions on the leaderboard. He rode his excellent iron play to this strong finish as he picked up nearly 10 strokes on approach this week, the second-best mark in the field. Hoge didn't take advantage of the course when it was gettable, failing to break 70 in the first two rounds, and that's why he ended up two adrift of the playoff between Rory McIlroy and J.J. Spaun. Hoge will still have to be pretty happy with this result especially considering he came into the week having gone MC-54th-67th-T40. Hoge is not in the field for the Valspar Championship.
Hoge carded a five-over 76 on Sunday at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches to finish even-par and alone in 67th place.
Hoge has now placed 54th or worse in three consecutive starts dating back to the WM Phoenix Open, losing a collective 18.5 strokes from tee to green throughout his last 10 rounds. This past week at PGA National, he lost a combined 5.43 strokes on and around the bermuda greens. Nonetheless, Hoge will be in the field again this week for the Arnold Palmer Invitational where he tied for 12th last year when he paced the field in SG: Approach.
