Kizzire carded an 11-over 83 on Sunday at the Valero Texas Open to finish 12-over and tied for 65th.
Kizzire hit only five of 18 greens in regulation en route to the field's worst final-round performance, losing 8.2 total strokes Sunday. On a more positive note, he ended the streak of seven consecutive missed cuts that plagued him from the Sony Open in Hawaii through the Texas Children's Houston Open. Kizzire will tee it up again this week at Augusta National for his first Masters Tournament appearance since 2019.
Kizzire (back) withdrew during the first round of the Valspar Championship, according to PGA Tour Communications.
Kizzire cannot immediately try to redeem himself from The Players Championship, when he scored two-over par. It is unknown how big of an injury his back problem is and how long he will be out for moving forward.
